Valeria Escalona

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, at the age of fourteen, Valeria Escalona moved with her family to the UK, where she studied Graphic Design at the University of Arts London (London College of Communication), in which she was most attracted to the packaging part of the course. This later brought her to Barcelona, Spain, to study a Masters in Branding and Packaging, from which she managed to bag jobs in different studios which eventually lead her to the award-winning agency where she currently works full-time as a Packaging Designer.

Valeria shows a great interest in kawaii culture and cartoons, both have influenced her illustration style greatly. Her drawings are minimalistic and clean and maintain a smooth and pleasant pastel palette. Her characters shine with ingenious emotions, they smile and feel like they would be blinking at you but they also transmit love. Valeria says that her cats and her IPad are her most faithful professional partners and always around when she creates for Skribbl.
